Transportation Secretary Takes Proactive Approach to Preparing for Growing Population
Florida is expecting 4.5 million news residents and about 3 million more drivers by 2030. Planning now will help ensure Florida is prepared to meet the growing population. Hear Florida Department of Transportation Secretary Kevin Thibault, P.E. talk about the new proposed multi-use infrastructure corridors on the latest edition of the Florida Chamber’s Bottom Line.
“The corridors initiative was an opportunity to be more proactive,” said Thibault. “We’re trying to take a principled approach to how we set the plan on transportation needs for this state.”
The Florida Department of Transportation is charged with implementing Senate President Bill Galvano’s infrastructure package. The Florida Chamber’s Infrastructure Coalition led the charge to encourage lawmakers to pass, and Governor Ron DeSantis to sign into law, this bipartisan infrastructure measure.
