By: Susan Towler, Florida Chamber Foundation Board of Trustees Chair; Executive Director/CSR, Florida Blue Foundation
The Florida Chamber Foundation team continues to build momentum behind the Florida 2030 Blueprint’s mission and its 39 goals. I’m proud to share with you the following recent highlights of our Foundation team uniting Florida’s leaders on the path to making Florida a top 10 global economy by 2030.
This month, Florida Chamber Foundation President Mark Wilson delivered remarks on Florida’s emerging demographics and metrics to the Florida Council of 100 and provided an economic forecast to two Leadership Florida classes. His November travels rounded out with an address to the Southeast U.S. Japan & Japan-U.S. Southeast Associations, placing focus on Florida’s competitiveness on the global stage, and a presentation to the Sarasota Chamber of Commerce, focused on the Florida 2030 Blueprint and how Sarasota County can help move the needle on further growing and diversifying Florida’s economy.
Members from our economic expert team also hit the road this month to unite leaders on the 2030 mission. Chamber Foundation Director of Research Dave Sobush, CEcD, also presented on the Florida 2030 Blueprint and provided an economic and housing update to the Lake County Housing for All Summit. Additionally, Florida Chamber Chief Economist Dr. Ben Tabatabaei presented before the executive management team of Vinik Sports Group (VSG) in Tampa to provide a Florida economic outlook.
As we celebrate the holidays, I would like to give a special thanks to you all – our Board members, partners, and stakeholders – for everything you do to help grow and propel our state forward. Through your leadership, time and investment, we are truly making a difference and that’s something we can all be proud of.
Wishing you, your family, and your teams a joyful holiday season!
Susan
