This year’s Anchor Ball will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the TPepin Hospitality Centre and is the annual gala event for the Port Tampa Bay maritime industry. Proceeds from the Anchor Ball will benefit the Tampa Port Ministries Seafarer’s Center, which serves visiting ships’ crews, typically of very modest means, who spend months at sea away from their families. The USF Health College of Nursing recently opened a first of its kind Seafarers’ Clinic, housed at the Seafarers’ Center to serve these deserving essential workers. Proceeds from the Anchor Ball also benefit the Tampa Bay Maritime Scholarship Foundation, which supports graduating students of the Jefferson High School Maritime & Marine Science Leadership Academy in pursuing careers in the maritime industry.
