Central Florida Super Region Has the 10th Largest Gross Regional Product in the Nation
Last week, all eyes were on Central Florida for all the wrong reasons. This week, we want to focus on the enormous growth and opportunities in that region.
Representing more than 7.1 million people in 15 counties, the Central Florida “Super Region” has an estimated economic impact of $300 billion and accounts for the 10th largest gross regional product in the United States. Contributing to the super region’s growth are the public, private and philanthropic leadership of the Central Florida Partnership, Tampa Bay Partnership, as well as the regional planning councils, EDCs, chambers and business community that recognized working together offered a competitive advantage when marketing regional assets and pursuing public policy priorities.
As the third largest state in the nation, Florida benefits from many regional partnerships statewide that have the power to streamline regulations and permitting, improve infrastructure, expand into new markets and bolster workforce training for local businesses – all in an effort to create more job opportunities and improve the quality of life for residents.
Does your region have the necessary resources to attract economic growth? What are your candidates and elected officials doing to make your community competitive?
