International Business Council
The Florida Chamber is committed to connecting Florida’s business community to global opportunities and leveraging resources and investments to maintain and expand Florida’s position as an international trade leader. In order to meet the goal of doubling Florida-origin exports, Florida’s role in international trade must continue to strengthen. There are several ways to get involved with the Florida Chamber’s International efforts. The International Business Council is the governing group of all the international committees charged with the overall goal of building and promoting Florida’s global competitiveness through advocacy, education and information.
- Florida World Trade Month
The Florida Chamber, World Trade Center Miami and Enterprise Florida invite organizations across the state to participate in the celebration of Florida World Trade Month during the month of May. During the month-long event, we celebrate and promote World Trade through events and programs that educate and increase awareness about the importance of international trade to job creation and economic growth for Florida.
- Team Florida Trade Missions
Led by Enterprise Florida, these export development trade missions are an important part of a statewide strategy to market Florida products and services globally. The trade missions generally feature a business matchmaker program for Florida exporters, including one-on-one business appointments with potential foreign partners, a seminar, meetings with trade and industry associations and various networking opportunities with foreign business. The Florida Chamber is a proud supporter of these important efforts, which benefit small businesses and Florida’s growing economy.
“It’s Florida’s time because we are in the right position, we have the right culture, we have the right infrastructure. So Florida, and Floridian companies, are really in a position to take advantage of the global economy in ways we didn’t have available before. “ Lee Sandler, Lee, Sandler & Rosenberg, P.A.
The Florida Chamber recognizes the importance of trade advocacy and manufacturing efforts and has opened a South Florida office led by Alice Ancona, Director of Global Outreach.
