Florida Chief Justice Labarga Names Constitution Revision Commission Appointees
Chief Justice Jorge Labarga recently announced his three picks to the upcoming Constitution Revision Commission (CRC). Labarga’s appointees are Jacksonville attorney and former Florida Bar Presidnet Hank Coxe, Tampa-area lawyer and former Senator and Representative Arthenia Joyner, and Coral Gables attorney and former U.S. Attorney Roberto Martinez.
These three individuals will join Attorney General Pam Bondi and 33 other as-yet unnamed appointees in this important body. As you may already know, the CRC has the ability to place constitutional amendments directly on the ballot.
“We are hopeful that these individuals, along with those yet to be named, will work together to prepare for Florida’s future. By 2030, our state can expect another 6 million residents. The CRC has the opportunity to adjust our state’s constitution to better serve Florida’s future needs.”
