Director of Talent, Education and Quality of Life Policy
Matthew Choy serves as Director of Talent, Education and Quality of Life Policy at Florida’s largest and most influential business advocacy organization, the Florida Chamber of Commerce. Matthew’s legislative portfolio includes advocating on healthcare, education as well as gaming issues.
Prior to joining the Florida Chamber Matthew worked as a Regional Field Manager for the Republican Party of Florida during the 2010 election cycle. He successfully aided to elect Bill Hagar and Elizabeth Porter to HD 87 and HD 11 respectively. Starting in 2012 Matthew worked in the Florida House of Representatives as Legislative Aide to MaryLynn Magar. There he coordinated with lobbyists, key stakeholders and staff to execute Representative Magar’s legislative agenda.
After his time in the Florida House Matthew directed multistate legislative and regulatory matters with emphasis on creating allied development, coalition building and affiliation with key influencers for The ScottsMiracle-Gro Company. His experience also included managing SMG’s Political Action Committee (PAC) at both state and federal levels.
Matthew was born in Boston, Massachusetts and moved to Jupiter, Florida in 1999. Since that time, he has graduated from The Florida State University with a B.S. degree in 2008 and then Rollins College with a M.B.A. in 2010.
