Last month, experts from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and Dolphin Research Center rescued a manatee calf after it was determined the youngster was orphaned. The calf has since been transported to our facility, where he will receive around-the-clock care. Currently weighing in at 140 pounds, the calf will need to reach 600 pounds before being cleared to return to his natural habitat.
SeaWorld Orlando is one of four federally permitted critical care facilities and is dedicated to protecting and caring for sick, injured, and orphaned manatees.
