Sunshine Water Services is an investor owned water/wastewater utility company based in Altamonte Springs, Florida. We serve over 70,000 connections across 10 counties. We have approximately 80 employees. We have been in Florida since the 1970’s and were previously known at Utilities, Inc. of Florida.
What made you join the Florida Chamber Foundation’s Board of Trustees, and what would you say to other Florida leaders about the benefit of this partnership?
The Foundation’s work to lead Florida’s long term policy direction is critical to Florida’s growing future. Sunshine Water Services wants to be sure that water utility policy is not lost in the policy discussions.
What are Gulf Coast Community Foundation’s particular areas of interest as they apply to reaching the Florida 2030 Blueprint goals aimed at making Florida a top 10 global economy by 2030?
Providing high quality, affordable service to current and new Floridians’ will allow for continued commercial and residential development of the state. Assuring water and wastewater service is available in currently developed areas and areas to be developed in the future will provide Florida with the infrastructure it needs to handle the continued growth. SWS also wants to assure that the proper legislative and regulatory mechanisms are in place to handle the growth.
