Florida Chamber of Commerce Endorses Jim Boyd
In Senate District 21 Race
TALLAHASSEE, FL (July 21, 2020) – The Florida Chamber of Commerce is uniting Florida’s business community for good, and today endorsed Jim Boyd in the Senate District 21 race to replace term-limited Senator Bill Galvano.
As a small business owner, Jim Boyd has a strong track record of reforming our broken legal system, while also fighting back against job-killing regulations, earning a lifetime score of 95 percent “A” on the Florida Chamber’s Legislative Report Card.
“Jim Boyd has been a relentless champion for local businesses, earning three Distinguished Advocate awards during his time in the Florida House,” said Mark Wilson, President and CEO, Florida Chamber of Commerce. “Jim Boyd’s leadership and vision will continue serving Florida well, driving sound business policy while making Florida more competitive.”
The latest Florida Chamber statewide poll of likely Florida voters shows that 71 percent support COVID-19 liability protections for businesses that are working hard to protect the health and safety of employees and customers, and they believe the Florida Legislature should pass legislation to provide these safe harbors for job creators. Jim Boyd is the only candidate for Senate District 21 who has exhibited the leadership necessary to advance these types of commonsense, pro-business efforts.
“During his time in the House, Jim has consistently fought to lower taxes and support economic development efforts that help create jobs and diversify Florida’s economy,” added David Hart, Executive Vice President, Florida Chamber of Commerce. “We look forward to working with him in the Florida Senate.”
The Florida Chamber is proud to support Jim Boyd, putting its full 100-plus years of combined political experience behind getting him elected.
“I am proud to receive the endorsement of The Florida Chamber of Commerce whose mission is to support Florida Businesses. As a business owner, I understand the important work that this organization does to support economic development and generate job opportunities in our great state. When elected I look forward to continuing the work to ensure that Florida is a preeminent state for commerce and business alike,” said Jim Boyd.
