Backed by a strong foundation in sectors such as technology, healthcare, construction and more, Florida is on track to continue its growth trajectory and in a position to remain a leading force in innovation, job training, employee development, and economic resilience.
“As we look into late 2025 and beyond, Florida isn’t just growing, it’s showing the rest of the nation what stable and well-planned growth looks like,” said Mark Wilson, President of the Florida Chamber of Commerce & Foundation. The report notes that while challenges like inflation and housing affordability persistFlorida’s ability to adapt and innovate will drive its long-term success.
Key Economic Highlights for 2025:
- GDP Growth: Florida’s Real GDP is projected to grow by 2.5%-3.0%, surpassing national trends and reflecting the state’s robust economic foundation.
- Workforce: Job growth is expected to stabilize, growing by 1.00%-1.25%, with unemployment rates remaining in the range of 3.6%-3.8%. Thoughtful strategies are needed to engage working-age adults who aren’t currently in the workforce, in order to increase our labor force participation rate. The Florida Chamber Foundation’s workforce development initiatives, such as the “Future of Work Florida” program, are key to bridging the gap between education and high-demand careers.
- Housing Market: Active listings are rising, and home prices are calming, with median sale prices for single-family homes ranging between $415,000 and $425,000. However, housing affordability remains a challenge for many Floridians.
- Population Trends: Florida’s population is forecasted to reach 23.75 million and Florida will remain #1 in the country for net income migration. (3.5 times second-place Texas)
