For far too long, Florida’s constitution has been under attack by out-of-state and special interests trying to buy their way onto Florida’s ballot.
Instead of functioning as the revered document that serves as the basis of rights for all Floridians, the Florida Constitution has become a tool by which a few deep pocketed out-of-state billionaires are buying their way onto the ballot to pass their special interest agendas.
The Florida Chamber of Commerce has a long history of protecting Florida’s Constitution from special interests who want to hijack our constitutional amendment process to pass their progressive agenda. We have long believed that Florida’s Constitution is the framework for state government, not a place where the whelms of special interests are housed. If it can be achieved through the legislative process, it should not be a part of our foundational document – the Florida Constitution.
Protecting Florida’s Constitution is ongoing.
