Small Business Spotlight: Gwen Cooper, Accessia Health

What does your business do?
Accessia Health is one of only 6 national nonprofits dedicated to providing high-risk and rising-risk people with the healthcare products, services and financial assistance they need regardless of their zip code. In 2021 we provided $4.5M in financial assistance to nearly 1000 Floridians.

What’s your biggest concern as a small business owner?

As a nonprofit, our concern is with inflation at a 40-year high and prices soaring, that people will not have enough disposable income to support nonprofit organizations dedicated to improving the lives of people who can’t afford their healthcare.

Tell us why you joined the Small Business Council and what you would say to other business leaders about the benefit and value of this council.
Accessia Health improves the lives of people living with chronic illnesses. Working alongside other small businesses allows us to become part of the conversation and solution creation to ensure people have access to the healthcare they need so they can continue to be productive members of society, stay employed and have enough income to contribute to economic growth in communities.
