What’s your biggest concern as a small business owner/operator?
The biggest challenge for many business owners is recruiting and retaining talent. I’ve been fortunate to hire some of the best professionals in the country. Over the past 30 years, I have worked hard to create a culture that places emphasis on team communications, recognition, and listening to the feedback of our team. Since Moore’s inception, cultivating exceptional talent has always been a top business priority and our talent retention stats demonstrate that our employees feel appreciated. Our industry’s standard for employee retention is 20%, but Moore boasts a 92% employee retention rate, with 24% of the team celebrating more than 10 years with the firm.
Tell us why you joined the Small Business Council and what you would say to other business leaders about the benefit and value of this council.
I believe leaders are often so busy running their business that they don’t have time to sit back and enjoy the opportunities to learn best practices from their peers or network with colleagues in other industries. The Small Business Council provides a vehicle to grow as a business leader, network, and hear from those inside and outside your industry. I appreciate the Florida Chamber recognizing the value and power of supporting small businesses in our state.
