The Country’s Premiere Event on Safety, Health + Sustainability is Happening in Florida – Join the Movement
By: Katie Yeutter, President, Florida Chamber Safety Council
The Florida Chamber, through the research conducted by the Florida Chamber Foundation, has laid out a clear blueprint to making Florida a top 10 global economy by 2030. While we are creating an environment that brings about prosperity for all Floridians, enhancing the skills of our workforce and cultivating a business-friendly climate that keeps Florida competitive, we must remain vigilant in protecting the most important asset in business: our people.
An incubator for education, leadership and research, the Florida Chamber Safety Council is the first organization of its kind to serve as the statewide resource for fostering safety, health and sustainability among Florida businesses.
Much like the Six Pillars Framework that is the basis of our Florida 2030 Blueprint, the Florida Chamber Safety Council is built on three pillars:
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
- Safety – there is an immediate need to provide training to ensure safety in the workplace.
- Health – addressing systematic issues like mental health, marijuana use and opioid abuse in the workplace.
- Sustainability – taking the United Nations’ 17 pillars of sustainability and making them measurable and applicable to all of Florida.

How do we bring this into action?
The Florida Chamber Safety Council and our network of trainers have traveled statewide to Florida’s businesses to keep them in compliance with OSHA regulations and standards while providing training to workers in several industries to decrease accidents on the worksite and make safety a core value in the workplace.
March 30 – April 1 the Florida Chamber Safety Council is hosting our 2nd Annual Southeastern Leadership Conference on Safety, Health + Sustainability at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The Florida Chamber Safety Council has developed this conference for leaders just like you to gather and discuss the top issues that will bring about cultural change within your organization for the better. Our Advisory Board of statewide leadership has put together a full agenda of 24 breakout sessions and three nationally recognized keynote speakers. Our three keynotes will address the areas that accomplish organizational change: Mike Rowe of the hit TV show Dirty Jobs will discuss an individual’s values and personal accountability; CEO of Correct Craft Bill Yeargin will talk about how your company’s C-suite leadership and corporate culture lay the foundation for change; and renowned psychologist Dr. Henry Cloud will discuss the psychology of multifaceted human behavior.
