The Florida Chamber Foundation team continues to build momentum behind the Florida 2030 Blueprint’s mission and its 39 goals. I’m proud to share with you some recent highlights of our Foundation team uniting Florida’s leaders on the path to making Florida a top 10 global economy by 2030.
April was a busy month for the team, starting with our President Mark Wilson and Director of Research Dave Sobush, CEcD, on the road having essential conversations with Florida leadership surrounding the Florida 2030 Blueprint, our economy, global outlook, Florida Trade & Logistics 2030, the future of work, building and growing Florida the right way, and more. Our team had the opportunity to present the business case for these topics impacting the 2030 movement at events and several organizations, including the Suncoast HR Conference, Economic Council of Palm Beach County, Manufacturers Association of Central Florida, the Greater Apopka and Naples Chambers of Commerce, PIANC America Conference, North Central Florida Regional Planning Council, and the Homes for Pinellas Summit. In addition to these presentations, Mark and Dave addressed nearly 200 Florida leaders at our Welcome Reception/ Global Dinner and annual Florida Transportation, Growth & Infrastructure Solution Summit, April 18-19, discussing what’s needed to propel Florida’s infrastructure and economy forward on a local and global scale.
Also, this month, Dave and research economist Sheridan Meek continued our tour throughout Florida, hosting our Florida Workforce Needs Study 2.0 Employer Focus Groups in St. Petersburg, Ft. Myers, Miami, and Heathrow. These focus group efforts will inform the Chamber Foundation’s next phase of workforce research.
I would like to wrap up this update by giving a warm welcome to Cary Putrino of Fifth Third Bank, new CDP/Trustee Representative. On behalf of the entire Board, we look forward to engaging with you on the solutions to grow and propel our great state!
If you have not already, I hope that you all will register for our June 26 Board of Trustees Meeting HERE>, which will be held in conjunction with the Florida Learners to Earners Workforce Solution Summit the following day. Please make plans to attend both!
Stay tuned for more updates next month on the momentum-building efforts of the Chamber Foundation team to secure Florida’s future.
Until next time,
Susan
